About these samples, and why the company is named

The values shown below come from a real query, run on 14 August 2026 against 宁波均胜电子股份有限公司 (Ningbo Joyson Electronic), a company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The company and displayed document numbers are not anonymised. The page does not reproduce every returned field: the L1 street address is summarised to its province, and some sections show selected rows. Those display limits are labelled. Nothing shown is invented or padded.

L1: Registry snapshot (free)

What the free search returns from an English supplier name. No account, no charge, runs in seconds.

What L1 settles: which registered entity the search returned and its recorded status. If there is no match, confirm the Chinese name and code before choosing further checks.

What L1 cannot do: it reads one snapshot. It does not check licences, tax status, court records or ownership, and it carries no human reading of what the fields imply.

L3: Human record check (from $128: $89 base + $39 per record category, delivered in 3 business days)

A human check reviews selected records and states their sources, dates and limits. The examples below came from an Identity & compliance pack query on 14 August 2026 through the upstream data service. They illustrate returned fields; they are not a completed human official-portal report.

Administrative licences: 15 records returned

Four things in that table are worth more than the count of fifteen.

• The bank account change. This record is dated 21 December 2017. It does not confirm the current account or the beneficiary on your invoice. Use the bank-account checks for that decision.
• Three change registrations on a single day (2020-07-29). Registration data is not stable furniture: when I checked all 264 recognised manufacturers, 54.9% amended their registration within twelve months.
• A planning permit is the only line here that touches physical premises. Even it describes a permission, not a running plant.
• The last row’s document number is a dash. The registry returned -, so we print -. Several rows also carry an end date of 2099-12-31 or 9999-12-31. Those are placeholders, not expiry dates. Do not treat these values as verified expiry dates.

These records cover working-hours approvals, registration changes, a merger decision and a planning permit. They are not evidence of manufacturing capability.

General VAT taxpayer status: 2 records

Both rows start in June 2016, but their labels and status flags differ. The sample preserves both. These rows alone do not establish current invoice eligibility; confirm the invoicing entity and the invoice you need.

Stated limit: taxpayer status says nothing about who actually invoices you. An affiliated exporter may be the entity on your invoice, and, per the bank-account record above, the account may have changed.

Spot checks & random inspections: 1 record

A special-equipment routine supervision inspection: plan 甬高市监抽查计划〔2021〕1号, task 甬高市监抽查〔2021〕9号, carried out by 宁波市市监局高新分局 on 2021-07-13, check type 定向 (targeted, not random). A regulator actually looking, on a dated plan.

Stated limit: covers only checks regulators actually ran, and the most recent one here is from 2021. Few entries can mean lightly inspected instead of clean.

Qualification certificates: no records found

The query returned 经查无结果: no records found. That describes this dataset on the query date. It does not establish whether the company or a subsidiary holds a certificate elsewhere.

No result is not proof of absence. If a certificate matters to your order, ask for its number, holder and issuer, then check whether it covers the contracting entity and product.

What L3 adds: a human reading of the selected records, with sources, dates and gaps stated. For a data query, review the separate 153-line menu and published prices. Confirm the selected service and total before ordering.

What L3 cannot do: it reads records. It cannot see the factory floor. Person-level records follow a tiered default: the legal representative is named in a delivered report to the buyer, other individuals are withheld unless separately unlocked. On this public page no individual is named at all. That is the line we hold, and it is the only one.

What it is, stated plainly: a person goes to the address, in mainland China, and reports what is there. Scheduled within 7 business days of payment confirmation; report within 2 business days after the visit; exact dates confirmed in your written quote.

HOW FULL IS IT, ACTUALLY

What came back from twelve record checks

We queried twelve record types for 45 Chinese manufacturers on 21–22 August 2026. Of 540 calls, 279 returned content and 261 returned no records. None failed. The table shows how often each type returned content in this group.

The group came from the NHTSA manufacturer list. It includes the 45 companies whose English-name search returned one Chinese entity with a credit code. This selection does not represent all Chinese suppliers.

Retested on 6 September 2026 against the same 45 companies and the same twelve dimensions, with the same probe. 43 of the 45 returned an identical shape. The only movement is administrative penalties, which went from 9 of 45 to 11 of 45. Two companies each gained one penalty record in fifteen days, and nothing dropped out.

The row that moved is the row a buyer is checking. Identity held: shareholders, annual reports and the registry snapshot each returned the same 44 of 45 on both dates. A saved report goes out of date first in the risk column. That is the argument for a query date beside every line, and for reading the live record before a payment decision. The two new penalty records are counted, and the companies are left unnamed. These are live administrative records about identifiable firms. A count answers the question a buyer has.

See the group and selection method in the NHTSA manufacturer study. The registry snapshot came back as a PNG image. Its fields need to be read from that image; the response did not provide them as structured data.

What an empty result establishes

The platform returned no records for operating anomalies or serious violations for any of the 45 companies in the 21–22 August 2026 queries. That is a result for this source on those dates. It does not establish that no such records exist elsewhere, or that a supplier is free of risk. Coverage and publication delays can affect what a platform returns.

Branch offices returned content for 8 of 45 companies; no branch records were returned for the other 37. Judicial assistance returned content for 3 of 45. Those counts describe the records returned. They cannot establish whether branches or proceedings exist. A failed query is recorded separately as an access failure; none of the 540 calls in this batch failed.

Shareholders, annual reports and the registry snapshot each returned content for 44 of 45 firms: one firm had no result in each category. Change records returned content for 41 of 45: four had no result. Ask about a missing record when it affects your decision; these counts alone do not explain the gap.

These counts describe returned records, not what your report will cost. Review the selected checks and total on the order page. An empty search result does not mean the buyer receives a free check.
