GLOBAL BUYERSCHINA SUPPLIER CHECKS

Check a China supplier, with evidence you can verify.

“Is this factory real? Can I pay them safely?” Every supplier check starts with those two questions. I answer with records, never with reassurance. Paste the name or licence you already have: the free screen shows in your browser whether the wording sounds like a factory or a trading company. When the order is big enough to need proof, order the registered record itself, with the source and query date on every line.

Paid reports: packs from $26.55; individual checks from $4.90 inside a pack and never sold on their own. 153 registry checks; buy only the ones your decision needs. The screen and readings above stay free, so you can try us properly before spending anything. About to pay a supplier you already picked? The before-you-pay selection bundles the lines for that exact step, priced on the page. Scope and total shown before anything is charged. Your first paid report is refundable. If it leaves you unhappy, for any reason or none, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we refund it in full to the original payment method. That guarantee applies once per buyer. Your order confirmation states the delivery window, and it will not exceed 72 hours after payment confirmation. Pay from your own PayPal account, choosing Goods and Services. If a report is never delivered you can raise a dispute with PayPal over the missing item. The limits of that route are spelled out on the payment page. BUYING DECISIONS / 01

Start with the decision
in front of you.

Do not decode a catalogue of checks. Choose the question holding up your order, see the evidence that can answer it, and keep the final commercial decision with your team.

IDENTITY / BEFORE CONTRACT

Is this the legal company named in the deal?

Match the Chinese legal name, registration record, contract party and authority chain before you rely on a sales name. This is the China company check people run first. It is a company search against the China business registry to verify a Chinese company exists, is live, and is the entity on your contract.

AFTER PAYMENT / GONE QUIET

Already paid, and the supplier has stopped replying?

What you can still do tonight, which records settle whether chasing is worth it, and where the dispute windows sit. No lecture about what you should have done first.

VERIFY / I HAVE A SUPPLIER

Verify a supplier you already have

Use the report menu when you know the records you need: it shows current availability before a source can be selected. Or ask a person to define a dated evidence boundary. This route checks the supplier you bring. It does not choose or replace one.

SOURCE / I NEED A PRODUCT

Need a product sourced from China?

Start at the separate buying desk before any supplier-specific check. The sourcing page states Currawong's seller role, current limits and payment terms before contact. A supplier check never becomes a sourcing offer.

EVIDENCE STANDARD / 02

See what supports a finding,
and where it stops.

Trust comes from showing the work: the source consulted, the date checked, the match logic, unresolved gaps and the decision that the evidence cannot make for you.

SOURCE RECORD / CHECKABLE

Every finding names its source and the day it was checked

A completed check identifies what was consulted, what was visible on that date and which company identifier was used. Access failures stay visible instead of becoming a clean result.

Records originate from China's official disclosure system, the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (GSXT). Live lookups and self-service reports retrieve them through a licensed Chinese business-information platform. The L3 tier adds a manual recheck against the official source. In our 12-country test, none of the overseas probes could open the page, while a control government website worked from all twelve. We name the source and the tier. We do not query, proxy or cache the official portals by automated means.

How the verification desk handles evidence →

METHOD / BOUNDED

We separate what the record proves from what it only suggests

Not a trust badge or supplier approval. Each finding states what the record supports, what it cannot prove and what still needs buyer, inspection, testing, legal or banking review.

THE GAP / 03

Some capable factories are
hard to find overseas.

A factory may have production capability without an English-speaking sales team, overseas marketing or export credentials in its own name. In those cases, an intermediary may handle the export. That possibility is a reason to verify the legal and payment chain. It does not prove that any particular seller is a factory.

The measurements behind the claims on this site. Every number below is a full count and never a guess from a sample, and I date each one because things move.

Whatever question you start from, the answer traces back to one of these. Every figure is dated, because registrations and source availability keep moving. If we have not measured something, the page says so.

So when you search for a "factory", what you find first is often a trading company presenting itself as one. It may sit several layers away from the workshop that actually makes your product. An honest trade partner adds real value: English communication, consolidation, quality checks, logistics. The problem is not the middleman. The problem is not knowing who you are actually buying from.

Currawong starts with the buyer’s question. Screen the wording you have. Use a commercial data source only when the page shows it is available, or arrange a scoped human public-record check. A supplier showcase, meaning a directory of factory profiles we would publish ourselves, is not open, and no date is attached to it. It would need real factory relationships we do not have yet, and a directory of empty pages would be worth less than nothing. If they do open, they will hold to the same standard as everything else here: separate facts from claims, disclose sources and dates, and keep known gaps visible. No profile is a guarantee of outcome.

MEASURED / 03B

We put a number on the “not in their own name” part

On 22 August 2026 we queried customs credentials for 45 Chinese manufacturers: every company on the NHTSA vehicle-manufacturer list that resolves to exactly one Chinese entity.

Whether the maker can be the exporter of record. Queried 22 August 2026.
StatusCompanies
Holds an import/export credit record of its own41 of 45
Holds none: someone else is named on the declaration4 of 45

Four of these 45 had no own import-export credit record on the query date, although their products appear on US roads. That pattern is consistent with an intermediary handling export, but the record alone does not identify who shipped each product.

One honest limit: these 45 companies had already reached the United States, so it under-counts the invisible factories described above. Those are on no US regulator’s list, and we cannot sample them. The 45 are the same 45 companies I use throughout this site, read along different dimensions. The batch is described in the NHTSA manufacturer study.

COMMON QUESTIONS / 05

Three things buyers ask before they order

Do you query the official Chinese portals yourself?

No. Records reach us through a licensed Chinese business-information platform. Its records originate from the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, China Judgements Online and the China Enforcement Information Disclosure Network. Commercial databases can lag the official record, so every finding carries the day it was retrieved and you can judge it on that.

What does the free screen do that a paid report does not?

The screen runs entirely inside your browser and stores nothing. It reads the registered scope you paste and tells you whether the wording reads like a factory or like a trading company. It cannot confirm that the company exists. The paid report is the registered record itself, with the source and query date on every line.

Will you tell me whether to buy from this supplier?

No, and that is deliberate. You get dated records, named sources and stated limits. Gaps are disclosed on the page. There is never a score or an approval. The commercial decision stays with your team, which is the only position an independent checker can honestly hold.
